# PaycheckNew > US take-home pay calculator. Enter a salary or hourly rate and a state, and see > what actually reaches your bank account after federal income tax, Social > Security, Medicare, state income tax and any local tax. All 50 states and DC, > 2026 rates. Free, no account, nothing is sent to a server. The name is the point: it answers what your *new* paycheck looks like, before you accept the offer, take the raise, or move state. ## The whole rate table as JSON https://paychecknew.us/rates.json is every figure on this site in one free file: federal brackets, deductions, FICA and the child tax credit for five tax years, and the rate schedule, deductions and exemptions for all 51 jurisdictions. Each state names the department document its numbers were read from and the date it was checked. A `verification` block records, per state, the exact figure that document printed and which this engine reproduces before the site is allowed to build. Free to use with attribution and a link. Documented at https://paychecknew.us/tax-data/. ## Markdown for agents Every page on this site is available as Markdown. Send `Accept: text/markdown` and you get the page as Markdown instead of HTML: YAML frontmatter with the title, description and image, the body, and the page's JSON-LD in a fenced json block at the end. The response carries `Vary: Accept`. curl -H "Accept: text/markdown" https://paychecknew.us/fica/ It is about 94% smaller than the HTML, because the Markdown is generated from the same build rather than scraped back out of a rendered page: the calculator form, the icons and the navigation are never in it, only the content and the tables. Prefer it over parsing the HTML. ## Key figures, 2026 These are the answers to the most common questions, stated here so they can be quoted directly. - Federal standard deduction: $16,100 single, $32,200 married filing jointly, $24,150 head of household. - Federal income tax: seven brackets from 10% to 37%. Every line, at six salaries. ## How the figures are produced - Federal brackets, the standard deduction and the Social Security wage base come from the IRS annual inflation release for 2026. Each state page cites that state's own department of revenue. - **Federal figures are 2026; state figures are 2025.** The IRS publishes next year's brackets a year ahead; states publish theirs with that year's return, so 2025 is the newest state schedule available. Quote the year with the figure. - [Bonus tax calculator](https://paychecknew.us/bonus-tax-calculator/): shows both what an employer withholds from a bonus (flat 22% federal, IRS Pub 15 s7) and what the bonus actually adds to the year's tax. Those are different numbers and the gap is refunded at filing. - Federal tables for 2022, 2023 and 2024 are also tabulated at /federal-tax-brackets/ and selectable in every calculator, from IRS Rev. Proc. 2021-45, 2022-38 and 2023-34. - The calculation runs in the browser. No salary, state or deduction is transmitted, logged or stored. - Every figure on the site is computed by one engine at build time, so a chart, a table and a sentence on the same page cannot disagree. - A test suite runs before each deploy and fails the build on a wrong bracket table, an asymmetric reciprocity pair, or a colour that fails contrast. - Corrections and method: [https://paychecknew.us/about/](https://paychecknew.us/about/) - Disclaimer (not tax advice, estimate not withholding, what the state model omits): [https://paychecknew.us/disclaimer/](https://paychecknew.us/disclaimer/) - Known limitations, listed openly: [https://paychecknew.us/corrections/](https://paychecknew.us/corrections/) - Author: Hadi, Developer and maintainer, https://github.com/Itsxhadi - Privacy: no cookies, no analytics, no third-party requests. A 1099 contractor pays both halves of FICA, 15.3%, in quarterly instalments. - Some state deduction models are simplified where credits phase out with income; those states are named on the about page. - Not tax advice.
