Privacy and cookies
The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads nothing from anyone else, and never sees the numbers you type.
Your figures stay on your device
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your salary, hourly rate, filing status, deductions and state are never transmitted, never logged and never stored, not even on your own machine. Closing the tab discards them. Printing or saving to PDF happens locally too.
Cookies: none
No cookies are set, by this site or by anyone else through it. Nothing is written to local storage or session storage either. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to, and a banner implying otherwise would be misleading.
If analytics or advertising are ever added, this page will be updated before they go live, and anything requiring consent will ask for it properly rather than assuming it.
No third-party requests
Every page loads only from this domain. There are no tag managers, no advertising pixels, no embedded fonts fetched from another company, no chat widgets and no social buttons. Nobody else learns that you visited.
Server logs, which are the one exception
Like any website, the web server records each request: the page, a timestamp, the browser's user agent and the IP address it came from. An IP address can count as personal data, so it is worth naming rather than glossing over. Those logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse, they are not linked to anything you typed, they are not shared or sold, and they are not used to build a profile of you.
Links that prefill the calculator
Some links carry a salary or state in the address, for example ?salary=65000&state=TX. Your browser reads that to prefill the form; the value is not sent anywhere. If you share such a link, whoever receives it can see the figure in it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA you can ask what personal data an operator holds about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Here the honest answer is that beyond the server logs described above there is nothing to produce: no account, no email list, no profile, nothing sold or shared. Requests about the logs can go to [email protected].
Children
This is a general-audience tax tool, not aimed at children, and it knowingly collects nothing from anyone of any age.
Third-party links
Pages link out to the IRS, the Social Security Administration and state revenue departments so you can verify any figure. Those sites open in a new tab and have their own privacy policies.
