Terms of Use

Using PaycheckNew means accepting the terms below. They are short because the site is simple: there is no account to create, nothing to buy, and no personal data collected.

The figures are estimates, not tax advice

Everything this site produces is an estimate of annual tax liability spread evenly across pay periods. It is general information, not tax, legal or financial advice, and no professional relationship is created by using it. Your employer's actual withholding follows the Form W-4 you filed and IRS Publication 15-T, and any difference is settled when you file your return. For a decision that matters, speak to a CPA, an enrolled agent, or the IRS directly on 800-829-1040.

What the calculator does and does not model

It models W-2 employment: federal income tax using the 2026 brackets and standard deduction, Social Security and Medicare, state income tax, state payroll programmes such as California SDI, an optional local rate, a traditional 401(k) and Section 125 health premiums.

It does not model itemised deductions, tax credits including the earned income and child tax credits, dependants, capital gains, self-employment tax, multiple jobs in one year, mid-year moves between states, bonuses taxed at supplemental rates, or garnishments. A number of state deduction models are simplified where credits phase out with income; those states are named on the methodology page.

No warranty, and the limit of responsibility

The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Every figure is checked against the IRS release and each state's department of revenue, and a test suite runs before each deploy, but tax law changes and errors are possible. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hadi accepts no liability for any loss arising from reliance on these figures. You remain responsible for your own tax position and for verifying anything you act on.

If you find something wrong, please report it: corrections are published rather than quietly changed. See the corrections policy.

Using the content

You may use the calculator freely, for yourself or at work, and you may quote figures from these pages with a link back to the page you took them from. The tax rates themselves are public facts and nobody owns them. The written explanations, the code and the generated charts are the author's work; please do not republish them wholesale.

Automated access is welcome. Nothing is rate limited and no crawler is blocked, including AI crawlers. There is a machine-readable summary at /llms.txt.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to the IRS, the Social Security Administration and state revenue departments so you can check the source of any figure. Those sites are not under this site's control and their content is their own.
